2 teenage softball players head to Taiwan

Next month, fastpitch softball players Kaitlynn Moody and Kalyn Revord will compete against some of the best teams in the world.

The two Team Indiana players will represent the United States in Taiwan from Feb. 17-26. Asian teams include those from Japan, Taiwan, South Korea and mainland China.

Moody, 14, is a freshman at Jefferson High School, while Revord, 15, is a freshman at Harrison High School.

The pair will be the youngest players on the United States team who will face some Olympic players.

This will be the girls’ first trip overseas.

“I’m so excited,” said Revord, a pitcher and third baseman. “I’m a little worried about jet lag because we play Japan the same day we arrive.”

Moody pitches and plays first base and third base.

“I’m looking forward to meeting new people,” she said….
