Vanessa Kovar, a Class of 2013 forward and midfielder from Manassas, Va., has verbally committed to South Carolina, her family has confirmed to ESPNHS.

Kovar is a three-time regional Olympic Development Program player from VSA Heat, and has travelled internationally with the regional team. She is an ESPNHS Top 150 recruit and has participated in numerous youth national team camps.

At Forest Park (Woodbridge, Va.), Kovar led the team in assists as a freshman, then earned second-team all-district honors as a sophomore last spring.

Kovar is the fifth confirmed commit to South Carolina for the Class of 2013, along with Chelsea Drennan, Sophie Groff, Lindsey Lane, and Claire Studebaker.
